FAA may soon relax in-flight electronics rule

Airline passengers will likely be able to start using certain electronic devices during entire flights starting next year.

A FAA advisory panel is finishing up its recommendations this month.

Sources say reading eBooks, listening to podcasts and watching videos will be allowed. Making phone calls, texting, sending e-mails and using Wi-Fi will still be off-limits, though.

The rules travelers currently follow were created in 1966.
