Another gorgeous day expected today with highs near 80 degrees with mostly sunny skies. The only complaints are that we do need some rain. We are currently .33 inches of rain ahead of the average for this time of the year here in Indianapolis. We still are running in a pretty deep deficit when it comes to the past four months. Things could be changing starting on Sunday; however, with one model’s numeric output showing big rain chances to start next week.
Overall the forecast for early next week is a rainy start to the day for Sunday with rain sticking around through the afternoon. This is supported by most model data and passes the eye test as well. It appears at this point an upper low will slide past just off to the state’s north. The accompanying cold front will bring us the rain. This morning’s EURO model is showing this low to track right over the state and stalls it out. If this happens we could be looking at a couple of days of rain. How much rain? Low end would be around .75” of rain falling over a three day span from Sunday through Tuesday. The set-up it hints at could bring significantly more rain, however. At this point it doesn’t look likely but that is what is new with model data this morning. Enjoy your day!
