INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Have you had one of those days where you just don’t want to cook, let alone go out, and you’re tired of the usual delivery options?
Mark Meisinger wants to come to your rescue. He spent years in his car, making deliveries for others, until a light bulb went off one day last year.
Meisinger saved his money, buying bags one month and napkins the next. Finally, one year later, Total Takeout was officially in business.
“I just took it on faith, every step of the way,” said Meisinger. “It’s the closest thing I think I’ll ever be to being a rock star because people have such an emotional connection to this. It’s pretty surreal the reaction you get from people because they’re really excited about it.”
Meisinger has literally done everything himself. He built the car toppers, put together signs and printed and delivered flyers, and now, it’s paying off.
Just ask Kimberly Pritchard at FC Tucker.
“He came in and dropped some flyers off and let us know what he was doing,” she said.
The next day, Pritchard and her coworkers placed an order.
Meisinger currently delivers from 3 Sister’s Cafe, Canal Bistro, Delhi Palace Shalimar Restaurants, Blimpie Subs, TCBY, Tomo Steakhouse and Sushi, First Wok, Chili Verde, Mama Carolla’s, Alibi’s Grill, Luca Pizza di Roma, Thai Cafe and Black Diamond BBQ. The list continues to grow.
Canal Bistro’s general manager said it’s something they’ve been interested in for a long time and they were excited when Meisinger approached the Broad Ripple restaurant.
“We have a lot of people that either can’t get out of the house or for whatever reason they don’t want to and now we’ve actually been selling quite a bit,” said Aaron Herendeen.
Meisinger delivers from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and covers most of the Indianapolis area for a $3.99 delivery fee. For more information, visit the Total Takeout website.
