INDIANAPOLIS, IN (October 19th, 2013) – Mayor Ballard along with several local hoosiers gathered together Saturday to kick off free financial planning day.

Dozens gathered at the University of Indianapolis – Schwitzer Student Center where experts from the Financial Planning Association and certified financial planners answered questions on getting out of debt, retirement planning, investment strategies, income taxes, insurance and mortgages, among many other topics.

Attendees also took part in a series of classroom-styled educational workshops addressing key personal finance topics;  and listened to Mayor Ballard speak on why it’s important to have a good financial plan for any situation.

Financial planning day is organized by the city as part of a national initiative to provide free financial education and programming to communities across the U.S.
