The FFN Wrap: Elwood’s Mirales breaks IHSAA rushing record

Here is another edition of the Football Friday night wrap, featuring a collection of games featured on the high school highlights show on Fox 59.

The feature game this week feature’s Elwood and their star running back Sammy Mireles, who made some IHSAA history on Friday night.

With the record for most career rushing yards in sight, Mireles brought his best against the Tigers defense as he ran for 343 yards in helping Elwood to a 49-42 victory over Alexandria Friday night.

The effort brought his total yards for his career to 7,693, breaking the record of 7,560 by Cathedral’s Otis Shannon, who last played in the 2000 season.
