Train derails, knocks down power lines in Monroe County

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A train in Monroe County derailed and knocked down power lines early Wednesday morning.

Crews arrived to the scene on East State Road 45 northeast of Bloomington around 2:00 a.m.

150 homes are reportedly without power because of the knocked down power lines.

There were no injuries or other vehicles involved in the accident.

At this time, it is unknown why the 100-car coal train left the tracks.
