Police look for suspect after near southside gas station robbed

A man walked into a near southside gas station overnight Saturday, pointed a gun and demanded cash.

It happened at the Marathon gas station in the 42-hundred block of South East Street at around 12:40 a.m. Saturday morning.

The man demanded everything in the register, grabbed the money and ran away, headed east on Markwood Avenue.

Employees describe the suspect as a light-skinned black man, very thin, about 5’8 or 5’9, with a scruffy beard or goatee. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black leather jacket.

Now police are looking for the suspect. If you have any information about this crime, you’re urged to call 9-1-1.
