Fox59 welcomes new morning anchor, reporter Kristin Kane

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 7, 2013)— Fox59 News is happy to announce the newest member of the team!

Kristin Kane will co-anchor FOX59 Morning News with Scott Jones weekdays beginning at 4 a.m., joining Angela Ganote, Ray Cortopassi and meteorologists Jim O’Brien and Ron Smiley.

Kane comes to WXIN/FOX59 from Central Florida News 13, the Bright House Networks 24-hour news operation serving Orlando, Florida, where she is an anchor/reporter.

Kane began her broadcasting career at WCBS-TV in New York and at News 12 Westchester in Yonkers, New York. From there, Kane was hired as reporter/producer at WICU-TV/WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. She then moved on to similar roles in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale market at WSFL-TV and at FOX affiliate KRIV-TV in Houston, Texas.

“Kristin’s Midwest roots and passion for news will be a real asset to FOX59 Morning News,” says Kerri Cavanaugh, News Director at WXIN/FOX59. “She will be an excellent addition to the team.”

Kane is a native of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and earned a B.A. in American History at Columbia University in New York.
She will begin on Dec. 9.
