FOX_FuturecastSnow is likely to continue south of I-70 this evening as additional snow will accumulate, especially in places like Bloomington, Seymour, Spencer, Bedford, Columbus, Rushville and Shelbyville.  It’s north of I-70 where we are still waiting for the afternoon round to develop.  The models show it returning but high pressure to the northwest is suppressing a lot of the northern snow.

Snowfall Forecast CITIES

At the most, we are looking at a 1/2″ of snow in the city this evening, and that’s only if the moisture finally gets here.  Locations to the northwest like Lafayette will likely stay snow free.  The same goes for Kokomo and Peru.

Tonight’s Video Forecast:

The air turns much colder tonight, dropping to 10° by Saturday morning.  With temperatures dropping this far, you’ll need to watch out for refreezing on the roads.  Rock salt becomes less and less effective the further you drop below the freezing mark.  So with temperatures dropping near 10° tonight, it’s very possible that some slick spots could develop.  Side streets that haven’t been treated or plowed will continue to be snow and ice-covered.

Meteogram tomorrowTemperatures on Saturday only reach the mid to low 20s for a cold start to the weekend.  We should normally see high temperatures around 41° this time of year!

Another system comes in on Sunday bringing in another wintry mix to most of central Indiana, but nowhere near the moisture this system brought in.
