(Dec. 5, 2013)– A former middle school principal has been arrested on child sex abuse charges following an investigation conducted by an Indiana State Police specialized task force that was launched to tackle online predators.
A FOX59 News investigation back in May first gave you a glimpse of Mike Ettenberger, who was the Frankfort Middle School principal. Only our cameras were there in April as he was interviewed and as his house was searched by the Indiana Internet Crimes against Children Task Force.
After assessing the evidence collected, authorities discovered Ettenberger was allegedly having a relationship with a Michigan mother, and subsequently, with her young daughter. The mother pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct 2nd degree, child sexually abusive activity and using the internet/computer to communicate with another to commit a crime. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 8.
Ettenberger is charged with criminal sexual conduct, child sexually abusive activity, using the internet/computer to communicate with another to commit a crime, solicitation to commit criminal sexual conduct 2nd degree, solicitation to commit child sexually abusive activity, and possession of child sexually abusive material.
