Winter Weather Advisory issued for central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 12, 2013) – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of Indiana.

The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Friday through noon Saturday. FOX59 meteorologist Brian Wilkes said snowfall accumulation is likely late Friday night into Saturday morning. The system also has the potential for sleet and freezing rain.

The National Weather Service is projecting accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. The heaviest accumulations are expected in northern parts of central Indiana with lesser amounts in southern parts of the area. The NWS said drivers should expect snow-covered roads and limited visibility as the winter storm passes through.
