Indianapolis firefighters rescued an injured man Saturday afternoon after he had fallen down a slope.

Shortly after noon, IFD responded to reports of an injured person near McCarty and Kentucky.  When they arrived, they found an injured 46-year-old man who had fallen down a 6-foot slope Friday night.  He was able to climb back up the slope, but he did not call 911 until Saturday morning.  Firefighters were able to use a rope and basket system to bring the man up a 25-foot embankment.  He was transported to Eskenazi Health in good condition.
