PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (Dec. 19, 2013)– Indiana State Police Detectives from the Putnamville Post arrested a Greencastle man Thursday at his home after a nearly month long investigation into the mistreatment of a three year old family member.

In early November, the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post was contacted by the Putnam County Department of Child Services requesting assistance with allegations of abuse involving a three year old boy. During the ISP investigation, detectives uncovered information which led them to believe that on more than one occasion over the last few months, Donald Leitner is alleged to have squeezed the genital area of the young boy in response to the boy’s numerous accidental urinations.

The victim sustained pain and bruising as a result and was medically treated and released.

Donald Leitner, 19, of Greencastle, IN has been charged with:

  • Battery resulting in bodily harm, a class “D” felony.
  • Neglect of a dependant, a class “D” felony.

He is being held in the Putnam County Jail without bond.
