With just five days until Christmas, it’s crunch time for those who haven’t finished shopping. Whether you need to finish or you’re just getting started, retailers are looking to cash in.
Several retailers are welcoming shoppers by extending store hours, offering last-minute deals, even free shipping.
According to the National Retail Federation, 30% of holiday season sales happen during the last two weeks of the year. The Saturday before Christmas is the second biggest shopping day after Black Friday.
“This is panic time,” said Natalie Canull, owner of Mass Ave Toys downtown. “Daddies are running in here going, ‘Where is it? Where is it? Anything.’ We’re hauling stuff from the basement as fast as we can.”
The local store is extending store hours until 1o p.m. until December 23rd.
Simon Malls will open its doors from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. from now until December 23rd. It’ll also open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
Get ready for a marathon at some stores. Toys R Us will open 87 hours starting 6 a.m. Saturday. Kohl’s will welcome customers for 111 hours starting 6 a.m. Friday.
