Two school buses involved in accident in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ind.—The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an accident involving two school buses.

The accident occurred at the intersection of County Road 300 East and CR 200 North.

Authorities said the two buses were traveling in opposite directions on CR 300 East when they struck each other on the drivers’ sides, causing minor damage.  A vehicle sustained minor damage from the debris of the buses.

Authorities said one bus had 20 children aboard at the time of the incident.  The students were evaluated by medical personnel on the scene and later released to school officials.  No injuries were reported.

The buses were placed out of service until they could be inspected.
