Westfield Police have arrested an Indianapolis man for the murder of a Westfield mother and daughter.
Mary-Lyn and Kelley Erb were found slain in their home December 20th.
Westfield investigators later released a surveillance photograph of a man who may have used one of the victim’s credit cards at an eastside Indianapolis store.
A tip to police led investigators to Christian Rene Haley, 20, who was taken into custody Thursday morning.
Haley is currently in the Hamilton County Jail and charged with two counts of murder, two counts of felony murder, one count of robbery, one count of burglary and one count of theft.
“The victim’s home was not randomly selected by this individual,” reads a statement from Westfield Police Department.
A source indicates that Haley may have been employed in a business owned by the Erb family.
A man identified in a surveillance video has been cooperating with investigators, according to Capt. Charles Hollowell.
That man is not under arrest though a source tells Fox 59 News he has a previous criminal history including robbery and burglary arrests.
The cooperating witness is associated with other suspects in recent car burglaries in Fishers.
Investigators are trying to determine if the killings were the result of a botched burglary.
Capt. Hollowell told Fox 59 News that multiple search warrants were served on the northeast side of Indianapolis today in a search for evidence.
