A Muncie man convicted of murder will remain in jail.

The Indiana Court of Appeals upheld Terry Rutledge’s 65-year sentence.  He was found guilty last year of killing 40-year-old Tonia Ingram and then setting her body on fire.

Rutledge claimed the judge in the case failed to give jurors proper instructions before they began deliberations.  The Court of Appeals did not agree.
