UPDATE: Shelbyville Police now say the story of the home invasion was a lie. After investigating the incident, they came to the conclusion that 21-year-old Lee W. Runshe had made it up and no assault took place. The case has been sent to the Shelby County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Since the police department spent significant resources on the investigation, they request charges be filed.

The Shelbyville Police Department is investigating a possible assault that occurred Friday night.

Just after 6:30 p.m., police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Dunn Avenue after being alerted to a possible assault taking place.  A male was transported from that location to Major Hospital, but no injuries were reported.

Detectives were called to the scene to determine the exact nature of the incident.  Initial reports from officers indicated there was no forced entry into the home.
