INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 5, 2014) — A man crashed his car and was thrown from the vehicle early Sunday morning, after leading police on a chase on the city’s west side.

It happened just after 2 a.m. The driver smashed into a utility pole in the 3700 block of West Morris Street and was ejected from the vehicle, as the car finally came to a rest in a UPS freight parking lot.

The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, W. Morris was expected to be closed east of Holt, for several hours while crews repaired the utility pole.
