INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 16, 2014) – A home invasion suspect is in the hospital this morning after the homeowners beat the man with a golf club.
Police were called to this second home invasion on the city’s west side in the 3500 block of N. Glen Arm Road around 5 a.m. after first responding to a home invasion near 10th Street and Lynhurst Drive.
The armed suspect came in through a kitchen window of the apartment on Glen Arm Road and the noise alarmed the family inside. There were 12 people in the apartment, including children.
A few of the men in the family fought back against the gunman. During the scuffle, the suspect fired a shot that hit the wall.
The family then used a golf club to hit the suspect until they could pin him down to wait for officers. Police took him into custody and sent him to the hospital for his injuries.
Investigators are looking into if this invasion is connected with the earlierĀ one on Whitcomb Terrace.
