Pizza delivery driver shot and killed on south side following armed car jacking

UPDATE: (Feb. 1, 12:30 p.m.) – IMPD have identified the victim as 30-year-old Daniel Jaffke. Police also say his Jeep, stolen during the shooting, was found.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 31,2014)– Police are investigating a shooting and armed car jacking of a pizza delivery driver on the south side.

The incident was reported in the 4100 block of Continental Ct., at Capital Place Apartments  just after 7:00 p.m.

EMS personnel arrived and transported the man to Eskenazi Hospital where he died.  The victim was shot at least one time.

Police say the man delivered the pizza, left the building, and was shot. His car was then taken.

Residents of the apartment where the victim delivered the pizza called 911 after discovering the victim outside, on the ground, near their apartment a short time after the delivery.

The victim’s 1995 black Jeep Cherokee Laredo, Indiana license plate number 976CAV was taken during this incident.
