IMPD looking for light-colored pickup truck in Tuesday hit-and-run crash

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 18, 2014) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are looking for a driver who hit a man early Tuesday morning and then left the scene.

According to IMPD, officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Massachusetts Avenue around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday. They found a man lying on the side of the road with serious injuries. The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital.

Police said the man was walking southwest on Massachusetts when a pickup truck hit him from behind. The driver slowed down but didn’t stop to check on the victim. Another driver saw the man about ten minutes later and stopped to help.

The vehicle that hit the man was described as a light-colored pickup truck with possible damage to the front passenger side, police said.
