Police: Crews free woman trapped in car struck by fleeing SUV

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 20, 2014) – Crews from the Wayne Township Fire Department freed a woman whose was trapped in an overturned car Thursday morning.

It happened in the 100 block of South Tibbs Avenue. Initial reports said this started as a traffic stop, but the driver tried to get away from police in a silver SUV.

The SUV crashed into another vehicle, flipping it over. A woman inside the second vehicle was trapped. The driver of the silver SUV was arrested on scene. Crews freed the woman from the car, and she was taken to an area hospital. Her condition is unknown.
