Excise officers cite Indianapolis bar for prostitution and drug related offenses

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 2, 2014) — Indiana State Excise Police and Indianapolis Metro Police officers executed a search warrant at Sarbor Bohemio in the 4000 block of East Washington Street, early Sunday morning.

Five individuals were arrested and cited for prostitution and drug related offenses.

The search warrant was the result of a cooperative undercover investigation that began in October of 2013.

The IMPD’s Vice unit arrested four females and booked them into the Marion County jail on preliminary felony charges, including dealing cocaine, dealing a controlled substance, prostitution and promoting prostitution.

A male subject was also jailed on a preliminary charge of possession of cocaine.

Officers issued preliminary administrative violations to Sabro Bohemio and its owner, Zeferano Alvarez, 50, or Indianapolis for maintaining a public nuisance: drugs, maintaining a public nuisance: sex acts, public nudity and violating the scope of their alcoholic beverage permit.

The administrative charges issued to the premise and Mr. Alvarez will be heard in front of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission at a later date.
