(March 4, 2014) – Gov. Mike Pence joined officials from Stonegate Mortgage to announce 400 new jobs coming to Indianapolis and Carmel by 2017.

“This is really a great day for Indiana, and a great day for our region,” said Pence.

“We’re very excited that Stonegate is expanding into Carmel, and bringing good-paying, professional jobs with them,” said Nancy Heck, community relations and economic development director in Carmel.

“The jobs will be higher paying jobs, over $50,000,” said company president Jim Cutillo. “We’re looking for college graduates, hopefully from the great state of Indiana, from our colleges and universities.”

The company went public last year and continues to grow – and they’ve done it all during an otherwise difficult time in the mortgage industry.

“Today’s announcement proves that even in the most difficult times, Hoosiers know how to survive, how to prosper and how to succeed,” said Pence. “I really do believe if we keep our head down… we’re going to have a lot more days like today in the Hoosier State in the months and years ahead.”

Officials said the Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Stonegate up to $4.8 million in conditional tax credits, based on their new job creation plans.
