INDIANAPOLIS – Take your pick because there is no shortage of things to do this weekend in downtown Indianapolis.
Comic lovers are excited to have to first ever Comic Con to stop in Indianapolis. Most of them we spoke to tried to get to the well-known Comic Con in San Diego, but think Indianapolis is ideal. Not only because of location for Midwest comic lovers, but also affordability for all ages.
“So then we’re like, ‘oh my gosh we can actually do something together instead of having to pay for air fare, hotels and all that stuff so it was actually very, very convenient for us,'” said Michigan resident Justin Hassler.
And if you’re a sports fan, the Big Ten Tournament is in full swing. Although teams are getting knocked off everyday, their supporters are sticking around to enjoy the city. One man traveled all the way from Alaska to be apart of the fun.
“Didn’t even think twice about coming here. It’s a great place to be and a great city to host this type of event,” said Larry Martin.
And if none of those events are you flavor, the streets will also be flooded with people celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
With the amplified crowds both Indiana State Police and IMPD have extra DUI checkpoints and security in place.
