INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 21, 2014)—An expanded smoking ordinance approved by the Indianapolis Airport Authority Board of Directors will ban the use of e-cigarettes on airport grounds.

The ordinance was approved unanimously by all nine board members Friday morning.

The e-cigarette ban is an extension of an ordinance passed in 2007 and 2008, when directors banned all smoking on airport grounds except for a few designated smoking areas, which were closed months later.

The expanded ordinance takes effect April 1.
