INDIANAPOLIS – Fans of the top seed in the Eastern Conference won’t have to wait too long for their run to the NBA Championship to begin.
On Wednesday night the Pacers announced that they will play the first game of their opening round series with the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Pacers.com/Playoffs, the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Box Office and (800) 4-NBA-TIX. Pacers fans looking to guarantee tickets to ALL home Playoff games can place a deposit on 2014-15 season tickets by visiting Pacers.com/Playoffs or calling (317) 917-2827.
Bankers Life Fieldhouse will also play host to Game 2 of the series on Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. The Pacers will host Game 5 (Monday, April 28 at 8 p.m.) and Game 7 (Saturday, May 3, time TBD) if necessary.
With the top seed in the Eastern Conference, Indiana will have home floor advantage guaranteed all the way through the conference finals should they advance that far. In the NBA Finals, however, they would have to face one of the last five seeds since Oklahoma City, San Antonio and the Los Angeles Clippers have better overall records.
Last season the home floor proved a big advantage for the Pacers as they finished with an 8-1 record in their run to the Eastern Conference Finals. In the first round of the 2013 playoffs, the Frank Vogel’s team won all three home games in their first round series with Atlanta en route to a six-game triumph.
