SEVERE THREAT AGAIN TUESDAY
Much if the day Tuesday will be spent in a region of the large spring storm system’s “dry slot” – a region of strong upper air wind flow. In the dry slot air sinks and warms. As it moves east later in the day a skinny line of storms will likely develop and bring a chance of severe storms to parts of the state.
SPRING STORM DELIVERED MORE SEVERE WEATHER
Fatalities are reported again in the deep south after the large spring storm spawned over a dozen more tornadoes Monday. Hardest hit parts of Mississippi and northwest Alabama.
157 tornado reports this year in U.S. – 48 alone past 2 days. 31 Sunday, 19 Monday, the 2 day total of severe reports reaches 345 at the time of this post.
UPPER LOW LINGERS
The large spring storm will linger for days delivering unsettled weather here through Saturday. There is chance of afternoon showers each day of the week with a big drop in temperatures coming beneath the upper low. April rainfall is now over 5” and this April now ranks 28th all-time wettest.
