Man in critical condition after being shot multiple times on east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 29, 2014)– Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers are investigating after a man was shot several times in the leg and genitals.

Police identified the victim as 25-year-old Christopher Middlebrook of Indianapolis.

Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3500 block of North Hawthorne Lane just south of 38th St. just before 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located Middlebrook in the street with gunshot wounds to the thigh and genitals. He was immediately transported by EMS personnel to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. A person of interest has been detained by IMPD.

The motive for this incident is unknown at this time.
