Man and wife arrested, charged with dealing cocaine

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind (May 1, 2014)– Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) detectives arrested two people Thursday on felony drug charges.

Jessie Cummings, 38, and his wife Tequilla Cummings, 26, are charged with dealing cocaine, a class “A” felony.

VCU detectives conducted a three month investigation which culminated today when detectives served separate search warrants in the 3500 block of North Leland Ave. and the 1900 block of Herford Dr.

Jessie Cummings was arrested at the North Leland Avenue address and taken to Eskenazi Hospital after he attempted to eat an ounce of suspected cocaine.  His wife, Tequilla was arrested without incident at the Herford Drive address.

Seized during the investigation was approximately 21 ounces of cocaine, $80,000, three cars, and one motorcycle.
