INDIANAPOLIS (May 8, 2014) – Police have shut down an intersection on the east side of Indianapolis after a fatal crash.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police dispatchers said a person died after the accident near the intersection of 34th Street and Arlington Avenue. Police said it appeared a truck was driven on the track deliberately and then flipped over. Police dispatchers told FOX59 that a train was not involved.

The victim has been identified as Floyd Ronney, 71.

The vehicle, a Ford F-150, flipped over off the tracks and down a ditch. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and police said it appeared the truck may have been there for several hours.

Railroad tracks in the area were shut down after the crash.
