BOONE COUNTY (May 17, 2014) – A motorcycle accident in Boone County sent two to the hospital Saturday evening.

The single-vehicle accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on northbound I-65 near the 140 mile marker. Lebanon Police report that 36-year-old Chad Gibson of Frankfort was exiting the interstate at State Road 32 when he left the roadway.  The motorcycle rolled several times, ejecting Gibson and his passenger, 31-year-old Tristan Stofer.  Neither man was wearing a helmet.

Both Gibson and Stofer were transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.  Police believe excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lebanon Police and the Boone County Fatal Accident Crash Team.
