INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 23, 2014) — A sexting investigation is following students around the halls of Carmel High School.

FOX59 got word of this investigation Friday, when a person called our newsroom. The Carmel Police Department says students were found to be in possession of inappropriate photos on their electronics.

Polymnia Nicolaou, “Honestly, I don’t get why people would do something like that,” said Polymnia Nicolaou, a freshman at C.H.S.

“Once it’s out, it’s out, it’s gonna get to everyone,” said Claire Heger, also a C.H.S. freshman.

Heger says you don’t have to go far out of the classroom to hear the chatter. Police and Carmel-Clay district officials were notified, found that numerous students got the pics, and launched the investigation. That’s all they’re saying right now, but sources tell FOX59 more than a dozen students may be involved and the pics may have been sold.

“At such a young age, I think it’s silly that they would do something to ruin their future,” said Sophomore Chad Mann.

Students hope this sort of thing doesn’t happen again.

“Don’t do things you’re gonna regret,” Nicolaou said. “Pictures like that, you can’t get back once you send them, so just don’t do something that could ruin your life.”
