Should be a fantastic day at the track…

Don’t let the early morning clouds fool you, today’s 98th running of the Indianapolis 500 will be dry for Indianapolis with a small rain chance down to our south.  Clouds will hang in throughout the day as high cirrus clouds blow in from the southwest.  The clouds are forming due to a warm front that will arrive here on Memorial Day.  Highs today should be near 80° with low humidity levels.  The U.V. index is set for very high with sunburns being possible in as little as 15 minutes.  Temperatures will be warmer heading into the traditional work week with highs in the mid- to potentially upper-80s through Friday.

With the passage of the warm front there will be a chance for afternoon storms each day.  Any storms that develop will have a small chance of turning severe with the potential for large hail and gusty winds. Right now, no one day stands out as having a better chance for severe weather.  Hopefully it stays that way.  Enjoy the race and your holiday weekend!
