Teen suspected in Coke Lot shooting will not face charges

UPDATE (Dec. 9, 2015)– A jury found Avory Johnson not guilty of murder and carrying a handgun without a license.

 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 27, 2014)– A 19-year-old suspected in a shooting at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Coke Lot Saturday will not face charges.

The Marion Co. Prosecutor’s office told FOX59 Tuesday that due to inconsistencies regarding the identification of the suspect, there will be no charges filed against Avory Johnson.

The victim of the shooting was Max Levine, 25, of Kokomo.

Deputy prosecutors are continuing to work with the Speedway Police Department on this on-going investigation.
