Person shot in the head on west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (may 31, 2014) — Indianapolis Metro Police were called to a person shot near High School and 43rd Street on the west side Saturday evening.

Officers found a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head when they arrived, around 5:30 p.m.

The person was awake and talking to officers at the scene.

Police say they do not believe the shot was self-inflicted.

The suspected shooter is believed to be in a dark colored Crown Victoria with tinted windows, which was last seen south bound on High School Road.
