Fire at Lebanon Kroger prompts evacuation

LEBANON, Ind. (June 10, 2014)– A fire at a Lebanon Kroger prompted an evacuation Tuesday.

The Lebanon Fire Department was called out to the Kroger in the 2400 block of N. Lebanon St. around 7:40 p.m.  When they arrived they found a small fire in a fan motor of a produce unit.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but there was extensive smoke in the store.

Approximately 20-30 people in the store at the time of the fire.  Employees evacuated customers and no injuries were reported.

The fire department will be handing scene over to the Health Department, who will give all-clear on when store can reopen.
