HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – Residents and volunteers were hard at work Wednesday cleaning up just one day after a tornado touched down. Officials with Hendricks County Planning and Building surveyed the damage around County Road 200 South. Damage reports will be forwarded to the local office of emergency management and homeland security.

The Bent Wood neighborhood was hit hard by the storm. The president of the homeowner’s association estimates 20 homes were damaged. Restoration company trucks lined Zachary Lane as they worked on several homes.

Brian Major’s home had a six foot hole in the roof. He came home to find water pouring through the ceiling.

“Our attic and part of the second story bedroom was damaged from the rain and we had a lot of shingles off the house and a lot of siding was damaged as well,” said Major.
