One hurt in scooter v car crash on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 26, 2014) — A person on a motorized scooter was hit by a car early Saturday morning, on the city’s northeast side.

IMPD dispatch says it happened shortly before 3 a.m. near the intersection of 42nd Street and North Arlington Avenue.

The scooter was headed east on 42nd Street when it collided with the car at the North Arlington intersection.

Dispatch said The driver of the moped was injured but was in stable condition and is expected to be OK.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor, but the crash is under investigation. They’re trying to figure out which driver ran the red light.
