Police search for man in connection with store robberies in Cumberland area

CUMBERLAND (Aug. 5, 2014) – Cumberland police need help identifying a man wanted in connection with a series of robberies in the area.

On the morning of July 5, investigators said the man went into the Dollar General State at 12046 E. Washington St. and used a pocket knife to rob the business. About 30 minutes later, police said he entered the Subway at 11816 E. Washington St. and robbed it. He also used a pocket knife in that case, investigators said.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the man. Police said he wore a dark button up shirt during the first robbery and a dark green, long sleeve polo shirt during the second crime.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to a felony arrest. Tips must be submitted anonymously and directly to Crime Stoppers to be eligible for this cash reward.
