SUV crashes into apartment building, knocks out wall

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 18, 2014) – An SUV crashed into an apartment and knocked out an entire wall Monday morning.

The accident happened in the 4500 block of Glenarm Drive on the city’s northwest side.

According to police, a call came in around 4:15 a.m. regarding a structural collapse in the Spring Hill Apartments complex.

When officers arrived, they discovered that a 32-year-old man was driving an SUV when he crashed into the wall of an apartment.

The SUV has since been removed from the inside of the unit, and a three-post vertical shoring system was installed.

Fortunately, no one was living in the apartment.

The driver was not seriously injured, but he was taken to Eskenazi as a precaution.
