SOME DRY TIME

A half-inch of rain fell officially in the city over the past 24 hours – wettest here in nearly a month!  Showers and t-storms dropped southeast and diminishes early this afternoon, so some dry time returns for the balance of the evening.  We are waiting on a warm front and what a warm front it will be, delivering the hottest air here in just short of 1 year!

NEW ROUND OF STORMS

Before the heat arrives there is the potential of rounds of t-storms from late tonight into Thursday morning and again Thursday night to Friday morning. I’m posting below a forecast radar for 2 AM Thursday, perhaps the beginning of a new storm complex. We will monitor.

Similar to last night’s storms – frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall and possibly strong wind gusts could occur beneath the strongest storms. Timing is still to be tweaked but first round is looking to shape up later tonight starting around 12 AM.

HEAT WAVE COMING

Are you ready for real heat? As advertised the pattern change is underway and it will get hot. 1st 90s for the city coming but brace yourself for the heat index – it soars starting Friday and could be near 100° for several days. Off the overnight computer runs, multiple 90 degree days are coming and the new runs have extended this and additional day or two. Stay tuned!
