(Sept. 3, 2014) – Meijer will hire hundreds of workers in Indiana as the retailer opens new stores and prepares for the holiday shopping season.

Meijer, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., said the openings are for a variety of jobs, including cashiers, stockers, meat cutters and cake decorators.

The company said most of the positions were seasonal but some were full-time. The seasonal jobs could also lead to full-time employment, the company said.

Meijer has opened nine stores in the Midwest this year and plans to continue growing. The retailer will hire 10,000 people for the holiday shopping push.
