Man shot while officers serve search warrant at Monrovia home

MONROVIA (Sept. 5, 2014) – Police wounded a man Friday morning while serving a search warrant at a home in Monrovia.

According to Indiana State Police, investigators arrived at 9794 N. Hall Rd. around 10:30 a.m. Officers from the Indiana State Police and Morgan County Sheriff’s Department knocked on the door. They reported hearing movement inside, but no one answered the door.

After failing to get an answer, officers entered the home to make sure no evidence was destroyed. They heard gunshots and then returned fire.

A man in his 50s was shot and taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
