INDIANAPOLIS — Central Indiana teachers are getting a lesson in gang activity today.

Mayor Greg Ballard’s office along with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Marion County Prosecutors Office are hosting a workshop for educators and school security professionals to share information on gang prevention and stopping gang-related problems.

Chief Rick Hite and other IMPD representatives are speaking, along with Ballard and Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry.

Educators will learn the signs of gang involvement, drug trends affecting every community, how to take action, and hear from IMPD and other public safety experts in the gang and narcotics fields.
