ONTARIO COUNTY, N.Y. (Sept. 24, 2014) – A grand jury in upstate New York has finished its investigation into the fatal dirt track crash involving Tony Stewart.

Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo said the results of that investigation will be made public Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Stewart’s car hit and killed Kevin Ward Jr. on Aug. 9, 2014, at Canandaigua Motor Speedway. Ward, 20, had gotten out of his car to confront the three-time NASCAR champion during the race.

Tantillo decided to hand the case over to a grand jury after reviewing evidence in the case.

Stewart sat out three NASCAR races in the wake of Ward’s death.
