Sheriff’s office identifies inmate found dead inside cell at the Marion County Jail

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 24, 2014) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office confirms that an inmate has died in custody at the Marion County Jail.

The sheriff’s office identified the inmate the as Marshal Carman, 29. Carman had been arrested on Sept. 19 and faced two charges of theft. He was found dead in his jail cell.

The case is being investigated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Coroner’s Office. IMPD said it didn’t appear that the circumstances surrounding Carman’s death were suspicious.
