Early voting to begin Tuesday in Marion county
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 7, 2014)– Early voting will begin in the Marion County Clerk’s Office at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7 and will end at noon on Monday, Nov. 3. The full list of early voting hours is listed below.
To vote early, you will need to provide a valid (state or federal) government-issued photo I.D. Voters must also be registered to vote in Marion County. Indiana’s voter registration deadline is Monday, October 6, and voters can register or update their registration here.
October 6 is the statewide voter registration deadline. Voters new to Indianapolis or who have recently moved or changed their names must update their registration records by the deadline. Forms can be downloaded here.
Early voting in the Clerk’s office begins on Oct. 7. The Marion County Clerk’s office will be open the following dates and times for early voting:
- Weekdays, Oct. 7 to 24: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sat., Oct. 25 & Sun., Oct. 26: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Mon., Oct. 27 to Fri., Oct. 31: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sat., Nov. 1 & Sun., Nov. 2: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Mon., Nov. 3: 8 p.m. to Noon.
Voters will have easy access to the Clerk’s office if they use the Delaware Street entrance to the City-County Building. The office is located on the first floor of the west wing of the building.
To vote-by-mail, applications must be received by the Election Board on or before Monday, Oct. 27. Applications are found here. They can be mailed to a voter if they call 327-VOTE. Applications must be complete, including marking a reason for the request, and signed. Once the application is processed, a ballot is mailed to the voter. Civilian absentee ballots are due no later than Noon on Nov. 4.
