INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 8, 2014) — Several interstate closures are causing traffic delays and backups on the city’s south side.

INDOT crews are out in a few different areas, closing the following lanes and ramps:

  • the westbound Southport Road ramp to northbound I-65 (anticipated to reopen at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday)
  • the eastbound I-465 ramp to southbound I-65 (expected to reopen before 6 a.m. on Saturday)
  • two lanes of northbound I-65 between Southport Road and I-465 (estimated to reopen to two lanes at approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday. One right lane will remain restricted through Sunday afternoon)
  • two lanes of southbound I-65 between Keystone Avenue and Southport Road (expected to be lifted Sunday afternoon as soon as new concrete has adequate time to cure)

The speed limit in affected areas has been reduced to 45 miles per hour. INDOT urges drivers to obey those speed limits and watch out for construction workers.
